About Dr. Gabriel Ogah
Dr. Gabriel Ogah, 63, is a Fugar, Edo State, Nigerian urologist who has practiced medicine for 39 years. He had previously practised in Lagos for 20 years. He had his basic medical education at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. His specialist training in surgery and urology was in Nigeria, United Kingdom and Germany. He is Fellow of West African College of Surgeons; Fellow of International College of Surgeons; Member, European Association of Urology, 2001 to date; Foundation member, Nigerian Association of Urological Surgeons, since 1995.
In a World Health Organization (WHO) sponsored inaugural Men’s Health Conference in Vienna, Austria, in 2001, 5 medical specialists (one per continent) were invited to speak on men’s health in their respective continents. Dr Ogah spoke for Africa.
He is engaged in medical practice at his hospital in Fugar, Edo State, Nigeria where he is consultant urologist. His main areas of interest are ordinary prostate enlargement, prostate cancer, male infertility, impotence, urethral strictures, sexually transmitted diseases and weight control. He has special expertise in Men’s Health and is a founding member of International Society for Men’s Health”.

Dr. Ogah was the National President of Association of General and Private Medical Practitioners of Nigeria (the umbrella body of all private physicians in Nigeria) from 1998 to 2002. He has been a trustee of the same association for the past one year and a member of several Federal Government (Nigeria) Committees on health for a decade.
He is a professional speaker whose main areas are medical, career, good governance, motivation, health promotion/management and health technology usage. He speaks often on citizenship and on developmental issues for which he has been interviewed by most of the Nigerian media.
